Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to provide on-site medical services for the Pine Ridge Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (JCCC). Working as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, you will provide essential health services including examinations, assessments, and treatments to help students overcome medical barriers to employability. You will operate under the supervision of the Center Physician to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Assessment:
Conduct initial physical examinations (intakes) and promptly review applicant files to develop medical treatment plans.Acute & Episodic Care:
Treat minor conditions such as respiratory infections, cold, and flu symptoms, and provide first aid and CPR during scheduled hours.Chronic Care Management:
Provide written diagnoses and contribute to chronic care management plans for students with long-term conditions or disabilities.Prescriptions:
Provide medication prescriptions for controlled and non-controlled substances as authorized.Health Promotion:
Lead family planning programs and provide education for health promotion and maintenance.Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely records of every student interaction, diagnosis, and treatment plan on the Student Health Record (SHR).Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Participate in Disability Accommodation Committee (DAC) meetings and coordinate with the Substance Abuse Counselor and Health and Wellness Director.Qualifications & Requirements Licensure:
Must maintain an active, unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Nebraska.Supervision:
Must be willing to work under the supervision of a Physician to comply with state regulations.Compliance:
Must adhere to the Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH), HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable federal and state laws.Insurance:
Responsible for maintaining personal malpractice, professional liability, and general liability insurance.Security Clearance:
Must agree to a criminal background check and drug testing as a prerequisite for performance.Schedule & Environment Work Hours:
A reasonable schedule consists of one (1) or two (2) days per week, Monday-Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.Facility:
Services are performed on-center; the government furnishes adequate workspace, examination rooms, equipment, supplies, and PPE.Holidays:
Services are not scheduled on federal holidays (e.g., New Year's Day, Juneteenth, Veterans Day).Pay:
