University Orthopaedic Associates (UOA) - a Division of OrthoNJ, is a leading orthopaedic practice which provides a full spectrum of orthopedic care. Our board certified surgeons each with subspecialty training offer the best care in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement, traumatology, hand and upper extremity surgery, foot and ankle surgery and surgery of the spine. We have an exciting full-time opportunity for you to join our Team in our Somerset Office as a Physician Administrative Assistant (PAA). For consideration, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Proficient medical terminology is required, orthopedic a plus. Bilingual is a benefit. In this highly visible role, the successful candidate will be interacting with patients, families and health care providers. Excellent communication skills, writing and interpersonal skills are required. The successful candidate will be responsible to schedule surgical procedures with patients, coordinate with hospitals/ surgi-centers, provide coverage as needed for the department, ensure PAA supplies and equipment are properly stocked and in working condition, provide high level of customer service, quality care for all patients, vendors & other doctors, maintain doctor's master schedules, answer calls, and respond to emails and faxes in a timely manner.
Brief Overview of Position Responsibilities:
Strong working knowledge of computer systems, with experience in windows-based systems and Microsoft Office Ability to Multitask and Detail Oriented Surgical Scheduling with patients and coordination with hospital or surgical center Ensuring proper equipment & vendor are booked for surgery Point of contact and liaison for patients, other physicians, etc. when the physician(s) is not in the office Coordinate meetings with vendors and doctors as needed; schedule video depositions as requested by attorneys Maintain accuracy of physician schedule changes and notify all affected Assist in identifying documents and surgical codes in Surgimate that need to be corrected/changed Schedule appointments as needed for existing and post-operative patients Assist in providing PAA items of concern for weekly meetings Ability to answer phone calls, emails and faxes with the ability to complete correspondence regarding work notes, jury duty requests, etc. Verify billing sheet are entered appropriately and submitted for posting in a timely manner Aid in collecting insurance and demographic information for patients Maintain physician CME credits, license renewals/recertification requirements, organizing/submitting invoices for MD check requests Other job related duties as required OrthoNJ, LLC is required by New Jersey law to disclose the compensation range for this position. The hiring range for this role is $21.50 - $31 per hour. Compensation is determined based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and geographic location. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, as well as benefits. Eligible full-time employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package, which may include paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and a retirement plan.
