This is a rare opportunity to join an established team of cardiac surgeons and advanced practice providers in a dedicated outpatient setting focused on preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery care. The position offers a predictable weekday schedule, strong clinical support, and no inpatient responsibilities.

Position Highlights:

Outpatient-only Cardiac Surgery practice No call responsibilities No weekends Four 10-hour shifts per week Alternating weekday off Long-term assignment through March 2027 Academic cardiac surgery environment Collaborative multidisciplinary team Strong APP support structure Competitive compensation and travel assistance available for qualified candidates

Schedule:

Monday through Friday Four 10-hour shifts weekly Alternating weekday off No call No weekends

Clinical Responsibilities:

Manage preoperative cardiac surgery patients Conduct postoperative follow-up visits Perform comprehensive patient assessments Develop and implement treatment plans Provide patient education and surgical preparation Monitor recovery and post-discharge progress Coordinate care with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams Assist with continuity of care throughout the surgical journey

Procedures Performed:

Postoperative wound assessment Incision and wound management Wound debridement Packing placement Postoperative surgical site care

Patient Volume:

Approximately 10 patients per day

Support Team:

You will be supported by a highly experienced cardiac surgery team that includes: 5 Cardiac Surgeons 5

Outpatient Advanced Practice Providers Clinical APN Manager Dedicated Medical Assistants Scheduling Coordinators Clerical Support Staff Office Supervisor Office Manager Collaborative Inpatient APP Team Qualifications:

Required Active New Jersey Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License Current DEA Registration Current CDS Registration Ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment

Preferred:

Cardiac Surgery experience Cardiothoracic Surgery experience Experience managing preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients Advanced Practice experience in cardiovascular services
