RWJ Barnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Patient Care for the Pediatric Emergency Department at the New Brunswick campus. The primary role of the Assistant Director is to provide oversight, guidance and strategic direction to the Pediatric Emergency Department. The Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring that the staff is adequately trained, competent to perform their jobs and have all of the necessary tools to complete the functions successfully. They are responsible to ensure the department is staffed appropriately to volume and budget. The Assistant Director oversees payroll, evaluations, and ensures department achieves the established performance goals.Qualifications:
Required:
BSN required At least 2-3 years leadership, charge, preceptor experience as a Registered Nurse with Pediatrics or Pediatrics Emergency Experience Strong communication, organizational skills, and presentation skillsPreferred:
MSN highly preferred Previous experience as a nursing assistant director is preferredNational Board Certification Certifications and Licenses Required:
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License BLS, ACLS and PALS certificationTNCC Scheduling Requirements:
Full time Night Shift 80 hours: 3, 12 hours shifts per week, and 1, 8 hours shift every other week Weekend coverage 1 weekend shift per 2-week periodOn Call Leadership Coverage Essential Functions:
Provides leadership and direction in order to fulfill the goals and objectives of the unit/organization Effectively communicates information to staff, utilizes resources and manages staff and services Assists the Director with the daily operations of the unit and delegated responsibilities Collaboratively prepares and maintains staff schedule and payroll Effectively collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and drives staff accountability Creates action plans and follows through on them for issues of competence Proactively manages the budgeted FTE s and overtime Provides excellent customer service to all patients, colleagues and other external and internal customers Demonstrates a high level of efficiency, accuracy and productivity Completes all other duties as assignedOther Duties:
