Job Description

Position Overview:
Under the administrative direction of the Regional Medical Manager and Medical Director, and clinical oversight of the Chief Clinical Officer, this role provides comprehensive, community-oriented primary care services to patients of El Centro Family Health. The provider delivers care across preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative areas, while also supporting clinical staff through supervision, mentorship, and collaboration.
What You Will Do:
Perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, provide preventive care counseling, and prescribe medications. Deliver comprehensive patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, while ensuring continuity and quality of care. Educate patients on primary care, disease prevention, and health management strategies. Meet productivity expectations in alignment with organizational goals, including encounter targets and reporting requirements. Collaborate with leadership in the recruitment, retention, and evaluation of clinical staff. Supervise and support other medical providers as assigned. Accurately document patient encounters to ensure complete medical records and support billing processes. Support and mentor clinical staff, including assisting with the implementation and effective use of clinical information systems. Participate in community outreach and health education initiatives to promote public health awareness. Contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of care and regulatory compliance. Support staff development through training, orientation, and continuing education efforts. Maintain professionalism and a patient-centered approach as an integral member of the healthcare team. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited program as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Current licensure in the State of New Mexico as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, including national certification and appropriate supervising physician arrangement for PAs, as required. Active, unrestricted license maintained through continuing education. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to balance, bend, lift, carry, and pull up to 20 lbs. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, typically longer than four hours. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, or as needed. Manual dexterity and ability to use hands and fingers for feeling, grasping, and operating office equipment. Adequate hearing ability for communication and monitoring office environments. Good vision for reading documents, operating office equipment, and observing surroundings. Capability to stoop, crouch, crawl, or kneel as necessary for office tasks. Ability to talk clearly and effectively for communication. Ability to walk and move around the office environment. This position involves possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials.
