What they do
A Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients, under the supervision of a physician or surgeon. Works in all areas and specialties of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine but has less formal certification than a physician. Performs duties delegated by a physician such as recording patient medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests, or giving immunizations. May serve as the primary healthcare provider, in consultation with a part-time physician, in communities with limited health care resources.

Name Description Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program is required. A Baccalaureate Degree is preferred.Experience:
Two years' experience as physician assistant. License(s): Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Physician's Assistant license. Controlled substance License to Prescribe issued by the State of Nevada Required, and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA. Certification(s): Board Certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required at time of hire OR maintenance of the NCCPA Board Certification shall align with the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners' requirements for an active/unrestricted State of Nevada Physician's Assistant license. Basic Life Support (BLS) AND Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required . Prefer American Heart Association (AHA) approved certification, but will accept online certification from American Red Cross Training Services , Advanced Medical Certification , or ACLS Certification Institute . Computer /Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Ability to Credential through Renown's Medical Staff and/or Payor Credentialing, as applicable.
