EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years first assist or if new candidate recently completed a surgical residency.
LOCATION
Southern Westchester County, New York.
JOB SUMMARY
40hrs/wk. Excellent opportunity for experienced PA to work in a hospital-based surgical practice. Function under the supervision of supervising attending surgeon on each of the following services listed below. Staff PAs comprise the surgical house-staff and as part of the attending MD/PA team, PAs are involved in the total care of the surgical patient from admission to discharge. First Assistant in a variety of specialties: Bariatric, General, Head & Neck, OBGYN, Orthopedic, Vascular, Plastics, Neurosurgery, and Thoracic. DaVinci Robot experience a plus but not necessary as we will train. Morning rounds. Pre-op and Post-op surgical patients. History and Physicals on routine and emergent admissions. Perform surgical consultations.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
3 years of first assist surgical experience or a new candidate who recently completed a surgical residency. Excellent suturing technique. Comfortable working independently performing invasive procedures ie. central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, dialysis catheters, incisions and drainage. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong work ethic.
Compensation:
Includes On-Call Responsibility.
