Orders and interprets tests, prescribes medications, and manages treatments within the scope of practice. Roles may include triage, telephone communication, and patient education. Job Duties Assess and diagnose patients, developing treatment plans. Accurately document in electronic medical records, order tests, interpret results, and prescribe evidence-based therapies. Adjust or discontinue medications as needed. Report significant risks or concerns to the collaborating physician. Perform procedures within licensed scope. Communicate with physicians, patients, and staff via phone or other means. Provide safe, ethical care and health education in understandable language, acting as the patient's advocate. Follow policies, meet deadlines, and meet departmental goals. Work is performed mainly in a clinical setting. The role requires meeting job-specific obligations and organizational policies.
