Job Description
Surgical Oncology APP - Hendrick Health The APP is responsible for providing health care to patients in the hospital or office setting. Works in consultation, cooperation, and coordination through a collaborative physician. Functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas. APP will work with Supervising Physician, Dr. Donald Lesslie in the clinic, OR and performing inpatient consults. Little to no call requirement. Minimum Education Master's Degree Minimum Work Experience No previous experience Required Licenses/Certifications BSN, MSN, or ANP licensed in the state of Texas BLS Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies Thorough knowledge of patient triage, diagnosis, and evidenced-based care Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic, language/culture, transportation issues Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures Skill in problem solving Skill in verbal and written communication Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures Ability to set priorities among multiple requests Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively About Hendrick Health System Hendrick Health System in Abilene, Texas serves as the hub for healthcare services in the Texas Midwest. Hendrick is looking to recruit physicians for the Abilene population of 120K and surrounding 24 county service area of nearly 400K.
