Alumni Healthcare Staffing seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to provide on-call coverage near McAllen, TX. In this role, you'll deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting, performing assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, and managing treatment plans under physician collaboration. Responsibilities include triaging urgent cases, rounding as needed, documenting in the EMR, and coordinating care with nurses and specialists. Responsibilities Provide on-call medical coverage and respond to urgent patient needs Conduct patient assessments, histories, and physical exams Order and interpret diagnostic tests and adjust treatment plans Prescribe medications and therapies per collaborative agreements Document all encounters and updates in the EMR accurately and timely Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and specialists Triage patient calls and determine appropriate level of care or escalation Participate in rounds and follow-up visits as needed Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulations Contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered care environment Required Skills Patient assessment and diagnosis Order and interpretation of labs and imaging Clinical decision-making in acute settings Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Medication prescribing and management Care coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration On-call triage and prioritization Knowledge of evidence-based clinical guidelines Patient education and communication Regulatory and compliance knowledge (HIPAA, OSHA)
