Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant Palm Health Resources - 3.1 Houston, TX Job Details Full-time 3 days ago Benefits 403(b) matching Health insurance Dental insurance Life insurance Qualifications Advanced practice provider Full Job Description Palm Health Resources is hiring for a prestigious Cardiac Surgery Group In the Beautiful community near Houston , Texas is hiring an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant! This is a community hospital setting - includes a strong variety of all cardiac surgery cases. Candidate would be doing both cardiac surgery and vascular surgery cases. Candidate will receive 50% OR time, 50% ICU/Clinical Inpatient/Outpatient Care. Procedures would included CABG, TAVR, TEVAR, Valve surgery, Carotid endarterectomy, AAA, EVAR, leg bypass, endovascular procedures, pretty much all of vascular except dialysis and veins. All of cardiac except transplant. What makes this practice unique/good place to work? Practice in a community hospital setting with all of the technology and advanced cardiac care. Working with primarily one top cardiac surgeon. Our cardiovascular Care is committed to delivering the best individualized care. Patients have access to a highly trained and integrated group of cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiovascular anesthesiologists, intensivists and a team of specialized health care professionals. Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) position functions as an advanced practice practitioner maintaining and promoting the health of the patient requiring care, practicing medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician. This position will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventative care, under the supervision of a physician. The surgical PA will assist the physician in the global management of patient care in all peri-operative settings, their primary role is to assist licensed physicians in patient surgery. This end-to-end involvement enables surgical PAs to provide unparalleled continuity of patient care. This position will work in both inpatient and outpatient settings and can perform independently under the license of a physician or as part of a treatment team. The Surgical PA will participate in care in Vascular/ Cardiac and Thoracic surgery and will rotate between two locations. This individual will take call as required or as outlined by their supervising physician, manager or lead. The Surgical PA should be in the OR a minimum of 30%. In addition, the Surgical PA position exams, diagnoses and decides treatment for patients, including analyzing and interpreting x-rays and lab results, writes prescriptions, takes patients' histories and orders various forms of therapy. This position affects direct patient care according to the Board of Physician Assistant Examiners in the State of TexasSurgical duties will include: Vascular Access, Peripheral Vascular Surgeries, Wound Care, Venous Insufficiency Procedures, Thoracic cases including robotic procedures, Cardiac cases including CABG, Minimally Invasive CABG, TAVR, Open Valve Surgery, Endoscopic Vein and Radial Artery Harvesting Participation in pre and post-op management including hospital and clinic work, critical care management, and bedside ICU procedures.
