Position Overview We are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant who is passionate about Orthopedics, eager to learn, and committed to delivering the highest quality care. This role includes both clinic and surgical responsibilities. You'll work closely with a supervising orthopedic surgeon, gaining exposure to a wide variety of cases and subspecialties while developing strong procedural and diagnostic skills.
Schedule:
4.5-day workweek (excellent work-life balance)
Setting:
Clinic, ambulatory surgery center, and/or hospital
OR Patient Mix:
New patients, post-ops, pre-ops, and established follow-up visits Key Responsibilities You will play an essential role in supporting the full continuum of orthopedic care, including: Managing patients independently and in collaboration with the supervising surgeon Conducting comprehensive orthopedic evaluations and developing treatment plans Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including independent X-ray and MRI interpretation Performing injections, casting, splinting, and other orthopedic office procedures Assisting with major and minor surgical procedures across both ambulatory and hospital ORs Providing pre- and post-operative care Participating in inpatient rounds and on-call activities as assigned Triaging patient calls to ensure timely, responsive care Documenting thoroughly in the EMR and participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited PA program NCCPA certified or nearing certification Eligible for or holds a Virginia PA license DEA license (or ability to obtain) Orthopedic or surgical experience preferred—motivated new grads welcome Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care Compensation & Benefits We proudly offer a comprehensive and competitive package, including: Competitive salary Generous relocation assistance Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) and retirement plan Paid time off and flexible scheduling Health Savings Account (HSA) Full support from FOA and Mary Washington Healthcare leadership Join a Strong Orthopedic Team with a Premier Health System Partnership If you're ready to build your orthopedic career with a team that values growth, collaboration, and excellence, we'd love to meet you.
