What You'll Do Provide urgent care services for a diverse patient population from birth to death Perform minor procedures such as laceration repairs, I&D, and foreign body removals Manage musculoskeletal injuries including splinting, casting, and joint reductions Interpret X-rays, EKGs, and point-of-care lab tests (e.g., rapid strep, flu, COVID-19 tests) Stabilize acute conditions and coordinate referrals for higher-level care when necessary Document all patient encounters accurately using Epic EMR Support patient education and follow-up care as neededWhat You Need Required:
Valid Physician Assistant license in Virginia Basic life support (BLS) certification Prior outpatient/urgent care experience preferredPreferred:
Ability to handle high patient volumes and diverse cases Strong procedural skills in suturing, I&D, and ortho stabilization About the Assignment This outpatient urgent care assignment involves working at multiple clinics across the Richmond area, providing high-quality immediate care to a varied patient population. The clinics operate daily from 8 am to 8 pm, with shifts spanning 12 hours, depending on patient flow. The facility emphasizes team-based care with a focus on efficiency, patient safety, and comfort.
