Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our established Neurology team in Newport News, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced neurologists in a collaborative practice dedicated to delivering exceptional care for patients with complex neurological conditions. Our Neurology team is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the brain and nervous system, including memory disorders, sleep medicine, headache management, epilepsy, and other neurological conditions. Through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, we provide comprehensive care across the continuum, from inpatient consultation and treatment to outpatient management and follow-up. The Advanced Practice Provider will work closely with neurologists and interdisciplinary team members to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, developing treatment plans, educating patients and families, and providing ongoing care management. Practice Highlights Join an established and growing Neurology practice Collaborate with experienced neurologists and multidisciplinary support staff Manage a diverse patient population with a broad spectrum of neurological conditions Participate in Riverside's Comprehensive Neurosciences Program Work in a team-based environment focused on quality outcomes and patient-centered care Primary Responsibilities Provide outpatient care for established patients and conduct new patient consultations Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic test results Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care Educate patients and families regarding neurological conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Required Qualifications Nurse Practitioners Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Current Virginia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license or eligibility for Virginia licensure National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Minimum of two (2) years of Advanced Practice Provider experience required Prior Neurology experience preferred Physician Assistants Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current Virginia Physician Assistant license or eligibility for Virginia licensure National certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Minimum of two (2) years of Advanced Practice Provider experience required Prior Neurology experience preferred Licensure and Regulatory Requirements Eligible for Virginia licensure at the time of hire Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration or ability to obtain prior to start date Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred Additional Qualifications Strong oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Dedication to evidence-based medicine and continuous learning Highlights Sign-On Bonus eligible Competitive base compensation with incentive opportunities Value-Based Performance Incentive Loan repayment eligible through Riverside Health's 501(c)(3) nonprofit status Flexible scheduling options Comprehensive health and retirement benefits Paid Time Off Continuing Medical Education allowance Malpractice coverage Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
