Job Summary The Cardiothoracic Surgery team is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant with experience in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and surgical first assisting. This role supports a comprehensive adult cardiothoracic surgery program, including hybrid, minimally invasive, and robotic procedures. The Physician Assistant will collaborate closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality cardiovascular surgical care. Key Responsibilities Perform endoscopic vein harvesting for cardiothoracic surgical procedures First assist in cardiothoracic surgeries, including minimally invasive and robotic procedures Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments Participate in perioperative patient management and care coordination Collaborate with surgeons, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical record systems Support quality and safety initiatives within the surgical program Engage in continued professional development and clinical skill advancementQualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant programExperience:
Clinical experience appropriate to cardiothoracic surgery preferredLicensure/Certification:
Current Physician Assistant (PA) license required DEA license requiredAHA BLS-HCP
certification required Advanced Life Support certification preferred and required if using a defibrillator in practiceOther Requirements:
Meets credentialing requirements Eligible for malpractice insurance coverage Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare providers Strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams Commitment to ongoing professional developmentWorking Place:
