Arianna Biondo The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Department of Anesthesiology supporting the Chronic Pain and Spine patient population at Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC), with potential expansion to the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC). This is a new and highly specialized role, created to support growing patient demand, improve access, and enhance care coordination for patients with chronic pain and spine-related conditions. The APP will play a key role in managing patients within the pain and spine care pathway, working closely with physicians and orthopedic teams to provide follow-up care, triage, and care coordination. This position offers the opportunity to help build and shape a new APP role. Key Responsibilities Provide follow-up care for patients with chronic pain conditions, particularly non-surgical spine patients Perform triage and referral evaluation, determining appropriate care pathways: Orthopedic spine consultation Pain management / procedural interventions Referral back to primary care Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams including Anesthesiology and Orthopedics Support follow-up and care planning Collaborate closely with physicians and existing APPs in the orthopedic group Contribute to improving patient access, continuity, and overall care experience
