Job Description

Black Canyon Community Health Center is hiring a Family Practice Physician Assistant for our Spring Valley clinic — and we've built this role around the two things PAs tell us they actually want: income security and clinical autonomy. You get a guaranteed base salary from day one. You also get a production bonus with no ceiling. You are not choosing between the two. Compensation Providers at typical volume earn in the $155,000-$180,000 range Production bonus paid per encounter above 90 visits per week, with no cap W-2 with full benefits Loan Forgiveness — Stack Both As a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center in a designated shortage area, we offer a combination most employers can't: NHSC Loan Repayment Program — substantial tax-free repayment toward your student loans for service at our site Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) — we are a qualifying employer, so every payment you make here counts toward federal forgiveness If you're carrying PA school debt, this is worth a phone call on its own. The Practice This is not a 12-minute-visit, click-through-the-template job. Our providers manage a genuinely broad scope — procedures, chronic disease, acute and urgent presentations, wellness visits, and everything else rural family practice brings through the door. You'll see a diverse panel with complex, varied conditions, and you'll have the autonomy to treat them. You'll be supported by Randy Hancock, D.O., who has cared for this community for more than 20 years and brings deep expertise in procedural and rural medicine. He is genuinely available — in person and by phone. New graduates and PAs transitioning from another specialty are welcome; the mentorship here is real, not a line in a job posting. You'll also have a dedicated, experienced Medical Assistant assigned to you — not shared, not rotating. Benefits Uncapped production bonus 401(k) retirement plan (W-2) Health, dental, vision, and life insurance (W-2) Paid time off (W-2) NHSC Loan Repayment + PSLF-qualifying employment Strong specialist referral network — many partners extend professional courtesy care Dedicated Medical Assistant support No hospital rounding The Location We're in the Bradshaw Mountains between Prescott and the Verde Valley — high desert at elevation, four mild seasons, and none of the Phoenix summer. Hiking, mountain biking, lakes, and trails start at your back door. Prescott is a short drive for restaurants, schools, and shopping, and Sky Harbor is about 90 minutes out. It's the kind of place where your patients know your name at the grocery store, and most of our providers consider that the best part of the job. What We're Looking For Current PA-C certification (NCCPA) Arizona license, or license-eligible DEA registration, or willingness to obtain one Comfortable with broad scope and a degree of independence Genuine interest in rural and underserved community medicine Must be legally authorized to work in the United States New graduates encouraged to apply. We precept PA students and actively hire from that pipeline. Ready to Talk? Apply through Indeed and we'll set up a call. We're also glad to arrange a shadowing day so you can see the practice and the community before you decide — no pressure, no commitment.
