Videos Duties Help The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) is one of the leading health care systems serving Veterans in the VA Desert Pacific Network. We're an innovive care center within the Veterans Integred Service Network 22 (VISN 22). NAVAHCS is seeking a Radiologist Fee Basis Physicians to provide quality service in our health care system for our Veteran hospital populion. The radiologist provides specialized expertise in Diagnostic Radiology, with preferred subspecialty focus on Neuroradiology, and/or Body, and/or Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiology, delivering high-quality imaging interpretion, performing image-guided procedures, and pient care. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Evalue and authorize diagnostic imaging exam requests, tailoring protocols to specific clinical indicions to ensure approprieness and optimal pient care. Ensure optimal technical image quality by evaluing images and providing constructive, targeted feedback to technologists when necessary to maintain imaging standards. Provide clinical oversight reled to contrast administrion and procedure preparion to ensure safety and adherence to best practices. Serve as a resource for radiion safety, MRI safety, and infection-reled considerions as needed for imaging care. Participe in quality assurance activities directly reled to image interpretion, including peer review when applicable. Interpret imaging exams, integring relevant comparisons and clinical informion, and genere timely, accure, and concise diagnostic reports, including findings, measurements, differential diagnoses, recommendions, and impressions. Enter required pient da and documention into the EHR in accordance with VA and facility policy. Ensure th report delivery supports pient care timelines and use approprie communicion methods for clinically significant or time-sensitive findings. Engage with pients only as required for imaging-reled clinical history, consent, or relevant clarificion within the scope of radiology practice. Coordine pient care by communicing with ordering and clinical providers when necessary for evaluion, management decisions, follow-up, or urgent results. Utilize available resources-colleague consultion, literure review, and continuing educion-to maintain current, evidence-based practice.

Preferred Experience:

Preferred Radiologist with Body Imaging Fellowship Incumbent may be required to respond to operional needs on short notice.

Fee Basis; this system of VA compension pays based on the specific task or service provided; Providers are paid in accordance with the fee schedule; Providers are scheduled based on the needs of the service. Basic Requirements:

United Stes Citizenship:

Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of educion in medicine or osteophic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a Ste, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United Stes, or in the District of Columbia.

Residency Training:

Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certificion. (

NOTE:

VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty stus.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accredition Council for Gradue Medical Educion (ACGME), b) OR (2) Those approved by the American Osteophic Associion (AOA),OR (3) Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United Stes), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with approprie professional training and believes has exposed the physician to an approprie range of pient care experiences. accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rher, they are to have a "scope of practice" th allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision. Physical Requirements:

VA Handbook 5019/1, Part II, Pre-Placement Physical Examinion and Evaluion Educion Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of educion in allophic medicine or osteophic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accredition was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed.

Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Educion (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted, or Schools of osteophic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteophic College Accredition of the American Osteophic Associion for the year in which the degree was granted. For foreign medical gradues not covered in (1) or (2) above, facility officials must verify with the Educional Commission for Foreign Medical Gradues (ECFMG) th the applicant has met requirements for certificion, and must obtain a copy of the ECFMG certifice, if claimed by the applicant.
