- April 30, 2027 (Part-Time) Position Overview The General and Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist will provide outpatient psychiatric services in support of the Indian Health Service mission to deliver high-quality, culturally competent healthcare to American Indian and Alaska Native populations.
Services will be delivered both in-person and via telehealth (Webex platform) within the Mental Health Services Department at FCRHC. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult and pediatric patients Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications Deliver ongoing psychiatric treatment and follow-up care Provide consultation and clinical guidance to medical and mental health staff Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Ensure all services meet professional ethics, confidentiality, and patient rights standards Patient Care & Collaboration Deliver culturally sensitive care to diverse patient populations Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support staff Utilize interpreters when necessary for non-English speaking patients Be available during weekdays for urgent patient consultations Work Schedule Minimum of 4 days per month onsite or via telehealth Clinic hours:

- 4:30 PM No weekend, holiday, or on-call responsibilities Performance Standards Deliver 100% compliance with IHS policies, CMS, and Joint Commission standards Maintain complete and accurate medical records at all times Ensure zero patient safety violations or compliance breaches Demonstrate professionalism, cultural awareness, and high-quality service delivery Performance subject to evaluation through quality assurance programs and CPAR reviews Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Certification Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) Board Certified in: General Psychiatry Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Licensure Active, unrestricted medical license in a U.
S. state or territory Valid DEA registration Experience Demonstrated experience in outpatient psychiatry Experience with telepsychiatry services preferred Additional Requirements U.S. Citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain clinical privileges within IHS Compliance with all credentialing requirements, including background checks Strong communication skills and cultural competency Contractor Responsibilities Submit accurate monthly timesheets for approval and payment processing Adhere to all federal, state, and IHS policies and procedures Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Complete all documentation before the end of each shift Ensure all mandatory training and onboarding requirements are completed Work Environment & Resources Government provides clinic space, equipment, and PPE for onsite work Contractor must provide: Personal medical instruments Telehealth workstation, internet, and remote setup Secure VPN access and EHR system provided by the Government Why This Role Matters This position directly supports the delivery of essential mental health services to underserved communities, ensuring access to high-quality, culturally respectful psychiatric care across the Navajo Nation and surrounding regions.
