Job Description

Full-time Physician Assistant in a family practice setting in Arcata, California, delivering comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages. The role emphasizes independent practice with collaboration, patient-centered care, and evidence-based treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages Perform physical examinations and comprehensive patient assessments Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results Prescribe medications in accordance with California laws and organizational protocols Provide preventive healthcare, wellness counseling, and patient education Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care Accurately document patient encounters within the electronic medical record Maintain compliance with all organizational policies and state and federal regulations Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care programs Promote a positive, patient-focused healthcare experience
Qualifications:
Current, unrestricted California Physician Assistant (PA) License Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current NCCPA certification Current, unrestricted DEA registration for California with prescriptive authority Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Minimum of two years of Physician Assistant experience Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and the healthcare team Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and organizational skills Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care
Preferred Skills:
Family Practice or Primary Care experience preferred
