Job Description

Senior Medical Associates seeks an psychiatrist to join us to care for an underserved population at the brand new El Cajon Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU) or one of the established CSUs located in Oceanside and Vista neighborhoods of San Diego County for 10 hour shifts. Senior Medical Associates is a multi-specialty medical group which focuses on care to those in greatest need, we predominantly serve high-risk underserved populations. We also focus on providing our team excellent careers, flexible schedules, opportunities to learn, grow, and evolve your work interests among nearly any level of care on the healthcare spectrum. And be part of a medical group which also staffs dozens of neighboring subacute and outpatient programs lending an heightened ability to successfully coordinate care and affect systemic changes. The clinical treatment populations at the CSUs are myriad adults in crisis ranging from involuntary to voluntary clients, novel neuropsychiatric presentations, chronic mental illness, substance use disorders and beyond. Clients are screened for those with an acuity appropriate to receive care in this freestanding setting rather than a hospital-based emergency room. Patient treatment is expedited with an aim to successful discharge within 24 hours.
EXPERIENCE
Emergency Psychiatry, Consult Liaison Psychiatry, Inpatient Psychiatry, CSU Psychiatry are ideal. Ability to work independently in a fast paced, collaborative, growth-oriented, environment is essential. Willingness to supervise a highly qualified psychiatric nurse practitioner paired with you daily.
REQUIREMENTS
Active, unrestricted California Medical & DEA licenses in hand today. Medicare + Medi-Cal eligibility. No recruiters,
SCHEDULE:
CSU shifts are 10 hours in duration, delivered in-person (no tele). No call.. Currently hiring for weekend roles. Must be ready to start work July 7, 2026
COMPENSATION:
