The physician will participate in a comprehensive pediatric movement disorders program within RCH-OC that follows hundreds of pediatric movement disorder patients annually. The program includes an active deep brain stimulation (DBS) program utilizing advanced neuromodulation approaches for individualized target identification, as well as access to intrathecal baclofen therapy, selective dorsal rhizotomy, and multidisciplinary spasticity management programs. The physician will participate in the evaluation and management of patients requiring advanced movement disorder therapies, including deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery and programming and botulinum toxin injections for spasticity and dystonia. This role offers the opportunity to build and expand a highly specialized pediatric movement disorders practice within a collaborative and multidisciplinary neuroscience environment. The physician will work closely with Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Genetics, Rehabilitation Services, and other pediatric subspecialists across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include participation in multidisciplinary movement disorders clinics and advanced surgical treatment programs, including DBS, intrathecal baclofen pump management, selective dorsal rhizotomy programs, and botulinum toxin injection clinics. The physician will also perform post-surgical DBS evaluations, programming, and longitudinal management of pediatric movement disorder patients, while helping develop and maintain an active botulinum toxin injection program focused on spasticity, dystonia, and related neurologic conditions. Additional opportunities exist to support development and expansion of specialized movement disorder programs, including dyskinetic cerebral palsy, ataxias, neuromodulation therapies, and inpatient movement disorder management pathways. The role offers strong academic affiliation through UCI and participation in clinical, translational, and basic science research initiatives related to pediatric movement disorders. Research & Academic Opportunities CHOC Children's Specialists and RCH-OC maintain an actively funded interdisciplinary pediatric movement disorders research program in collaboration with UC Irvine.

Salary Range:
$216,300
  • $281,190 Compensation is determined by multiple factors, including experience, education, skills, internal equity, and position requirements.
