In this locum tenens role, you will provide expert consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions. Working within the Medical Practice industry, you will collaborate closely with oncologists, nurses, and support staff to ensure comprehensive, evidence-based care. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while supporting the continuity of care in our practice. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical oncology and hematology consultations for patients Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for oncologic and hematologic disorders Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and biopsies Administerand supervise chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other systemic therapies Monitor patient progress, manage treatment-related side effects,and adjust regimens as necessary Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate continuity of care Document patient encounters accurately andtimely in electronic medical records Communicate effectivelywith patients, families,and referring physicians regarding diagnoses, prognoses,and treatment options Participate in tumor boards, case conferences,and quality improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with medical practice standards, protocols,and regulatory requirements Provide on-call coverage or emergency consultations as required by the practice Mentor or supervise residents, fellows,or advanced practice clinicians when applicable Requirements Medical Doctor (MD) or Osteopathic Doctor (DO) degree from an accredited medical school Board certification or eligibility in Hematology Oncology/Medical Oncology Active medical license or ability to obtain licensurein the applicable jurisdiction Associate-level experiencein hematology/oncology or related clinical practice Experience with chemotherapy administration and management of oncologic emergencies Strong knowledge of current treatment guidelines, includingimmunotherapyand targeted therapies Excellent clinical reasoning, diagnostic,and treatment planning skills Ability to work effectivelyina fast-paced, on-site medical practice environment Strong interpersonal, communication,and documentation skills Commitment to patient-centered care, safety,and quality improvement Eligibility to work on a contract/locum tenens basis Current
BLS/ACLS
certification preferred
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:15a-4:30p, specific dates
Setting:
Remote Daily Patient Volume:
15-20
Duties:
Follow-up visits, diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and oversight of clinic and infusion center
Case Mix:
Hematology, medical oncology, and all tumor types
Support Staff:
RNs, medical assistants, and administrative staff
EMR:
iKnowmed (Clinic) and Cerner (Infusion) Must be board-certified or board-eligible ACLS and DEA required Paid travel & expenses
