Job Description

A new OB-GYN Hospitalist program is launching on November 1, 2026, and the organization is seeking four OB-GYN Hospitalists and one OB-GYN Hospitalist Medical Director to help establish and grow the service line. This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up, shape clinical workflows and culture, and work in a collaborative environment with support from Stanford specialists. The position offers predictable 24-hour in-house scheduling, leadership opportunities, and a desirable Bay Area location. Dates/Schedule Program Launch November 1, 2026 Schedule 24-hour in-house shifts Predictable scheduling designed to support work-life balance Team Structure 5 total providers: 4 OB-GYN Hospitalists 1 OB-GYN Hospitalist Medical Director Job Details & Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities OB and GYN triage Labor and delivery management Obstetric and gynecologic surgeries Management of obstetric and gynecologic emergencies Inpatient consultations Collaborative care with community OB/GYN physicians and nursing teams Clinical Environment Approximately 1,200 births annually Level II NICU Maternal-Fetal Medicine support from Stanford Medical Director support from Stanford Medical Director Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership Guide program development and implementation Establish workflows and operational standards Lead quality improvement initiatives Help build and shape the new hospitalist program Required Skills & Qualifications Required Board Certified in OB/GYN Active California medical license (or currently in process) DEA registration (must be obtained prior to start) Strong clinical judgment Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care Preferred 5+ years of clinical experience Prior leadership experience (especially for Medical Director candidates) Clean malpractice and license history Submission Requirements The following must be provided prior to client presentation: Most recent NPDB Self-Query report (within the last 30 days) Indicate interest in full-time or part-time employment Indicate whether visa sponsorship (J-1 or H-1B) is required DEA status Confirmation the candidate has not previously applied directly to the position through the employer Certification Requirements Board Certified in OB/GYN State License Requirement California medical license (active or in process)
