Position Summary For Pain Management to join an Orthopedic Practice Part-time or Full-Time The Pain Management Physician is a board-certified specialist who evaluates and treats patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. The physician develops comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans utilizing pharmacological and interventional techniques. The physician serves as the medical director and leader of the pain management program, providing clinical oversight, patient care, training, and maintaining quality standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive pain assessments and evaluations utilizing physical examination and diagnostic testing Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS, ultrasound) Develop individualized, multimodal pain management treatment plans Prescribe and manage pharmacological interventions including opioids, non-opioids, adjuvant medications, and topical agents Perform interventional pain procedures including joint injections, nerve blocks, epidural injections, and other advanced techniques Manage opioid therapy utilizing PDMP monitoring and appropriate patient selection and monitoring protocols Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation, and surgical specialists Provide consultation to other physicians and healthcare providers regarding complex pain cases Maintain detailed documentation of pain assessments, interventions, and patient response to treatment Supervise and mentor PAs, NPs, nurses, and other clinical staff Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including DEA regulations, state pain laws, and opioid prescribing guidelines Stay current with pain management literature and advances in interventional techniques Participate in quality improvement and research initiatives Required Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Current active medical license in state(s) of practice Board certification in Pain Medicine by American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or equivalent Completion of accredited pain medicine fellowship (1 year minimum) Current CPR and ACLS certification DEA license with appropriate controlled substance registration Ultrasound credentials and certification preferred Strong knowledge of pain physiology, pathology, and treatment modalities Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with interventional pain techniques including radiofrequency ablation and spinal cord stimulation Physical Demands & Work Environment This position requires prolonged standing during procedures, precise hand coordination for interventional techniques, and ability to work in sterile procedural environments. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases possible. Flexible schedule with on-call responsibilities may be required.

Pay:

$300.00 - $400.00 per hour
