A healthcare facility in Englewood, FL, is seeking a flexible, experienced Emergency Medicine physician for a locum tenens role. The position requires coverage of day, night, and weekend 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, patient-centered Emergency Department. The ED manages approximately 20,000 visits annually and maintains 24-hour physician coverage. Support services include on-demand phlebotomy for surges, sepsis/stroke alerts, and complex cases, plus advanced imaging (MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound) and laboratory resources to guide diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities:

Provide timely, high-quality evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with acute medical needs. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective patient care. Use imaging and laboratory data to inform clinical decisions. Complete accurate, timely documentation in accordance with facility protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), or Family Practice/Internal Medicine with a minimum of two years' recent Emergency Medicine experience. Active Florida medical license and DEA registration. Strong clinical judgment and ability to work efficiently under pressure. ACLS and PALS certification strongly preferred.
