Job Description
Medical Doctor/ Physician(Family Medicine) Location- New Port Richey, FL Fulltime General Description The Family Medicine Physician provides comprehensive primary care services for patients across the lifespan, promoting continuity of care through prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. As a member of Premier Community HealthCare's multidisciplinary Care Team, the physician is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while improving the overall health and well-being of the communities we serve. This position works collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and operational leaders to ensure exceptional patient outcomes, support quality improvement initiatives, and advance Premier's mission of providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to all. Physicians also perform general medical procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, utilizing evidence-based and minimally invasive techniques. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care services, including preventive, acute, and chronic disease management for patients of all ages Perform medical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and appropriate therapeutic procedures within the physician's scope of practice Promote disease prevention and healthy lifestyle practices through patient education and health management counseling Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care Consult with providers across Premier locations to support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes Mentor and support new providers and clinical team members as needed Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the Electronic Health Record (Epic) in accordance with organizational standards Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation as assigned Manage daily schedules and patient encounters to meet productivity and quality goals Review and address patient tasks and clinical messages promptly Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) and Quality Assurance (QA) initiatives to improve clinical outcomes Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times Support Premier's mission through community outreach, health education, and engagement initiatives Communicate concerns that may impact patient safety, quality of care, or clinic operations Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Provide direct clinical supervision to assigned Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) Review patient charts completed by supervised providers to ensure quality of care and regulatory compliance Delegate clinical responsibilities appropriately and coordinate activities of nurses, students, medical assistants, and other clinical personnel Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong clinical knowledge in family medicine and evidence-based primary care Ability to educate, mentor, and support clinical team members Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to diverse populations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaborative abilities Exceptional customer service skills with empathy and professionalism Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standards Demonstrated commitment to Premier Community HealthCare's mission, vision, and values Qualifications Medical degree from an accredited medical school Current Florida MD or DO license Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine preferred Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience preferred Ability to obtain and maintain Epic certification and complete annual compliance requirements Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly and 30-50 lbs. occasionally Ability to sit for extended periods Direct exposure to computer screens Possible exposure to contagious or infectious diseases Ability to travel between Premier Community HealthCare locations to provide clinical coverage as needed
