Job Description

Overview We're hiring an Autonomous APRN — active Florida autonomous practice registration required. One Check Away (OCAI) is a Sarasota nonprofit delivering mobile and community-based healthcare to underserved patients across Sarasota and Manatee counties, including general/family medicine, urgent care, and sexual wellness services (HIV/STI prevention, PrEP/PEP navigation).
This is an independent-practice role:
no collaborative agreement, no supervising physician required.

Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions Prescribe medications within scope, order and interpret labs Deliver HIV/STI prevention services, PrEP/PEP navigation, and sexual wellness counseling Document care in Athena Health EHR and coordinate with pharmacy and lab partners Provide care aboard OCAI's mobile medical coach and at community partner sites Support health education, outreach, and quality improvement efforts Experience Active, unrestricted Florida APRN license with autonomous practice registration on file with the Board of Nursing National board certification in a relevant specialty (Family, Adult-Gerontology, Men's Health, Women's Health, or Infectious Disease) Experience in primary or urgent care, sexual health, HIV/STI prevention, or community/mobile health settings preferred Comfortable working in a mobile clinic environment. Demonstrated proficiency with Athena Health preferred; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus. Strong background in performing procedures like venipuncture and sterile processing techniques. Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis coding systems including ICD-9/10 and CPT coding for accurate documentation and billing practices. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to assess complex cases involving behavioral health issues. Schedule:
Approximately 28-30 hours/week, including daytime and evening clinic blocks plus on-call telehealth coverage on select evenings. Full schedule details provided during the interview process.
