In 1938, Mr. Waterman turned the elegant Fountain Inn in downtown Eustis over to a group of local doctors for use as a hospital, and the new Lake County Medical Center was to become the major cornerstone of health care in Lake County. For over 70 years, Florida Hospital Waterman has continued its commitment to the health care needs of our community, and has progressed from an 18-bed county hospital to a 269-bed acute care facility. In 1992 Florida Hospital Waterman merged with the Adventist Healthcare System and became part of a worldwide network that has given Lake County residents access to state-of-the-art technology and programs within the Florida Hospital System.
