Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Medical Director to join a premier Internal Medicine group in the Wesley Chapel area. Our group specializes in geriatric-focused, comprehensive care, managing a wide spectrum of complex illnesses ranging from cardiovascular to respiratory health. As the PM&R Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading our rehabilitation efforts, ensuring that our patients receive compassionate, high-quality care designed to optimize functional recovery and long-term wellness.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership:
Oversee comprehensive rehabilitation management for an inpatient population, ensuring all care plans align with the highest clinical standards.
Admissions Management:
Review and evaluate new admissions to determine medical necessity and tailor individualized recovery pathways.
Supervision & Collaboration:
Develop daily rounding plans and provide direct oversight and mentorship to a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to ensure continuity of care.
Strategic Rounding:
Conduct intensive rounding across a 4-day, 10-hour workweek , allowing for a balanced yet impactful clinical schedule.
Outcomes Focus:
Drive disease prevention and wellness initiatives to ensure positive patient outcomes and reduced readmission rates.
Candidate Requirements Licensure:
Current Florida MD/DO licensure (or immediate eligibility to obtain).
Board Certification:
Board Certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) is required.
Clinical Expertise:
Proven experience in inpatient rehabilitation and a deep understanding of geriatric care.
