The Opportunity As a Family Medicine Physician at GMHC, you will provide comprehensive care focused on health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities include:

Providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across the lifespan Promoting preventive care, wellness, and appropriate health screenings Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and developing individualized treatment plans Prescribing medications and therapeutic treatments within your scope of practice Educating and counseling patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment options Coordinating referrals and continuity of care with other healthcare professionals Responding to patient questions and concerns in a timely manner Maintaining accurate and complete medical documentation Collaborating positively with medical staff and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Serving as a resource in decisions and planning related to clinic services Responding appropriately to urgent and emergency patient care needs What We're Looking For Candidates must: Be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine Hold or be eligible to obtain an active Iowa physician license Maintain current DEA registration and Iowa Controlled Substances Act registration Meet GMHC Medical Staff membership and credentialing requirements Maintain certifications required by hospital privileges Complete required Child and Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter training Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to patient-centered care Why GMHC?
