Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physician Assistant specializing in Family Medicine, where your expertise will directly impact patient health and well-being. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care services across diverse patient populations in outpatient and inpatient settings. You will be a vital part of a collaborative environment, utilizing your clinical skills and passion for medicine to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews, to establish accurate diagnoses. Manage a broad spectrum of medical conditions through diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and medication administration, including injections and infusion therapies. Perform procedures such as suturing, wound care, and basic aseptic techniques while adhering to clinical protocols. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation, data collection, and medical records management. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on hospital medicine units, including ICU, NICU, PICU, and trauma centers, ensuring optimal patient care. Participate in clinical research studies and clinical trials to advance evidence-based practices within family medicine. Provide health coaching and education on topics such as family planning, nutrition, addiction counseling, and chronic disease management. Assist with triage in urgent care or emergency room settings by evaluating patient acuity levels and prioritizing care delivery. Support hospital discharge planning and post-acute care processes to ensure seamless patient transitions. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards during all patient interactions. Experience Proven experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital environments with a focus on family medicine or primary care. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for efficient data management. Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable. Hands-on experience performing procedures like suturing, venipuncture (phlebotomy), and airway management techniques. Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate documentation and billing processes. Experience managing acute pain cases, infectious diseases, or working within hospice & palliative medicine settings is a plus. Knowledge of hospital medicine protocols including ventilator management, dialysis support, neonatal ventilators, and radiation therapy basics. Telehealth experience is preferred to facilitate remote patient assessments when appropriate. Strong understanding of physiology principles and medical terminology to support precise clinical evaluations. Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams across various healthcare settings including nursing homes, outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, and inpatient units.
