NO call, no weekends, no holidays! We are seeking an energetic, motivated professional who wishes to help create and share in its growth and continued success. In a team, environment where the entire staff works closely to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients, you will be part of an exciting opportunity to work in and grow an advanced surgery center.

FULL TIME

- Scheduled between 6:15 AM-3:30 PM, with occasional rotating late shifts until 5:00 PM Tuesday-Thursday. The chosen candidate will assist in the care of our

ORTHOPEDIC, PODIATRY, TOTAL JOINTS

ambulatory patients in a warm friendly and safe environment.

RN MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES A.

Under general supervision, performs work related to the care and treatment of the patients in the operating room. B. Assures availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the surgical procedure prior to the case. C. Participates in operating room set up, turnover, cleaning, and restocking. D. Maintains sterile technique in opening of surgical supplies and instrumentation. E. Cleans, prepares, and sterilizes medical supplies and equipment. F. Provides for efficient aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures in a safe, efficient manner. G. Observes, recognizes, and anticipates common surgical complications, and assists with emergency care as needed. Reports unusual conditions immediately. H. Demonstrates a general knowledge of equipment and supplies. I. Helps to prepare and preserve specimens. J. Performs sponge and needle count with circulating nurse. K. Performs duties relating to processing, sterilization, and maintenance of the surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies. L. Understands and practices principles of sterilization, universal precautions, and hazardous materials management to process instruments, equipment, and supplies through the stages of decontamination. M. Demonstrates knowledge of standard instrumentation and equipment, their functions and uses. N. Maintains documentation of biological indicators for sterile processing equipment. O. Maintains appropriate instrument sets and supplies relating to their sterility, storage, and inventory levels. P. Demonstrates ability to work independently under established policies, procedures, and standards. Q. Protects the privacy, confidentiality, and security of personal health information. R. Demonstrates ability to setup surgical trays and wrap appropriately for sterilization. S. Assures availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the surgical procedure prior to the case.

Other duties:

1. Stocks supplies in operating room, sterile supply room and warmers. 2. Assists with turnovers. 3. Assists with sterile cleaning of instrumentation. 4. Performs all department cleaning duties at the end of the day.

IV. EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma Graduate of surgical technology program

REQUIRED

One-year experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in an Orthopedic Operating Room. BLS Certification. (Renewed every two years)

PREFERRED

Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist through the Association of Surgical Technologists.

V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must exhibit desirable trunk and extremity mobility and strength to handle objects and people safely in the activities of holding, lifting, carrying, pushing, transferring, and pulling. Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds safely. Frequent lifting may be heavy and awkward, over 50 pounds.
