Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.Position Overview The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Physician for the Kiley Developmental Center located in Waukegan, Illinois to serve as an Illinois Licensed Physician, applies medical knowledge and skills to meet the medical and health care needs of the individuals, on a designated unit. Conducts rounds evaluating individual's health issues, consulting staff, checking reports and charts. Provides medical examinations, diagnostic and treatment services. Serves as a member of the facility Medical Staff Committee. Provides on-call medical services. Essential Functions As an Illinois Licensed Physician, applies medical knowledge and skills to meet the medical and health care needs of the individuals, on a designated unit, who reside at the Kiley Developmental Center. Serves as a physician on call for medical advice or emergency medical assistance at night, on weekends and holidays in order to provide full medical coverage at the facility. As a member of individualized treatment teams, coordinates medical reviews and evaluations with the team activities and as a member of the medical committees. Performs annual physicals for individuals. Attends Medical Staff and Center Management Team meetings. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires an Illinois license to practice medicine. Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of professional experience evaluating and providing quality medical care to adult individuals. One (1) year of professional experience coordinating medical services with other professional disciplines and supportive personnel. One (1) year of professional experience evaluating, diagnosing, and treating adult individuals in accordance with best practices. One (1) year of professional experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing. One (1) year of professional experience preparing comprehensive and specialized medical records and reports. One (1) year of professional experience treating adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to serve on-call, after business hours, weekends, and holidays. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others. Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law. •All conditions of employment listed here are incorporated and related to any of the job duties as listed in the job description.
