Job Description
A physician-led, nonprofit health system serving northern Indiana and southwest Michigan is seeking a BE/BC Gastroenterologist and GI Hospitalist to join an established and growing GI practice in Elkhart, Indiana. The incoming physician will have the opportunity to partner with an experienced gastroenterologist and build a practice tailored to their interests, with flexibility across clinic, procedures, and inpatient responsibilities. Practice Highlights
- Join an established community-based gastroenterology practice alongside an experienced physician who has served the community for more than 20 years
- Flexible practice model allowing physicians to customize their balance of clinic, procedures, and inpatient care
- Opportunity to focus on general gastroenterology, GI hospitalist medicine, or incorporate subspecialty interests
- Advanced endoscopy skills, including ERCP and EUS, are welcomed but not required
- Procedures performed in both the hospital and ASC setting
- Strong support staff, including dedicated APP support, with the ability to add additional APPs as the practice grows
- Established inpatient support structure
- Olympus endoscopy equipment
- Teaching opportunities available through a regional medical school and local residency programs
- J-1 and H-1B candidates encouraged to apply Practice Structure
- Monday through Friday schedule for General/Advanced GI Physicians
- Practice consists of approximately 75% screening and 25% diagnostic procedures
- Current call structure is 1:4, Monday-to-Monday, with daytime coverage only
