The Clinical Child Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center is a time-limited advanced training position within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences designed to provide supervised clinical and scholarly training in child and adolescent psychology. The fellow will participate in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, behavioral health interventions, interdisciplinary patient care, supervision, and teaching activities involving children and adolescents with psychiatric, behavioral, developmental, and medical conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings. This position provides training and professional development toward independent clinical practice and licensure in the state of Kansas within an academic medical center environment.
Job Description:
Job Duties Deliver clinical and academic services to patients, students, and trainees of the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Health System. Conduct individual and group psychotherapy, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, consultations with patients and medical professionals, and integrated clinical report writing. Provide behavioral health interventions for children and adolescents with psychiatric, behavioral, developmental, and co-occurring medical conditions. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and collaborative patient care activities across outpatient and inpatient clinical settings. Engage in assigned scholarly and research-related activities, including initiation and completion of approved projects. Supervise clinical services and training activities provided by Psychology Interns within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Required Qualifications Education:
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or completion of all degree requirements, including a one-year full-time internship from an APA-accredited program. All degree requirements, including successful dissertation defense, must be completed prior to the start of the fellowship. This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have advanced knowledge, analytical skills and professional competencies necessary to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is commonly recognized as the standard qualification for similar roles in the public and private sector, ensuring that the university remains competitive with industry aligned practices, enhances collaboration with external partners, and supports the delivery of services and programs that meet professional and market-driven expectations.
Work Experience:
Training in an APA accredited or approved PhD or PsyD program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Relevant practitioner-scholar training experience in Neurorehabilitation Psychology; Child and Adolescent Psychology; Clinical Health Psychology; and/or Advanced Clinical Psychology.

Salary Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
