We are actively seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity in Covington, Kentucky within a structured addiction medicine and behavioral health setting. This is a weekday-focused assignment supporting both inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder treatment programs. If you are comfortable managing SUD patients in a collaborative, team-based environment, this opportunity offers predictable scheduling and defined coverage needs.Position Highlights:

5:00 AM 1:30 PM- 40 hours per week
- 3-month assignment (potential extension)
- Inpatient + outpatient behavioral health setting
- No listed call responsibilities

Medical Director Clinical Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations
- Perform intake and discharge assessments
- Medication management for substance use disorders
- Annual physical and health examinations (as required by program)
- Review labs and coordinate treatment plans
- Collaborate with nursing staff, counselors, and program leadership
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings This role operates within medically monitored treatment programming and follows state and federal compliance standards.
Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN)
- Active Kentucky medical license
- Active DEA and controlled substance registration
- Completion of ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency
- Experience in addiction medicine or behavioral health preferred
