Job Description:
We are actively seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity in Covington, Kentucky within a structured addiction medicine and behavioral health setting. This is a weekday-focused assignment supporting both inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder treatment programs. If you are comfortable managing SUD patients in a collaborative, team-based environment, this opportunity offers predictable scheduling and defined coverage needs.
Position Highlights:
    Location:
    Covington, KY
      Schedule:
      Monday Friday
        Shift:
        5:00 AM 1:30 PM
        • 40 hours per week
        • 3-month assignment (potential extension)
        • Inpatient + outpatient behavioral health setting
        • No listed call responsibilities
        • Interview with
        Medical Director Clinical Responsibilities:
        • Conduct psychiatric evaluations
        • Perform intake and discharge assessments
        • Medication management for substance use disorders
        • Annual physical and health examinations (as required by program)
        • Review labs and coordinate treatment plans
        • Collaborate with nursing staff, counselors, and program leadership
        • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings This role operates within medically monitored treatment programming and follows state and federal compliance standards.
        Requirements:
        • MD or DO
        • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN)
        • Active Kentucky medical license
        • Active DEA and controlled substance registration
        • Completion of ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency
        • Experience in addiction medicine or behavioral health preferred
        Compensation:
        Compensation is competitive and based on overall background, experience, and fit for the assignment. Travel and logistics support may be available for qualified providers.
