Not Provided Seeking a locum tenens Gastroenterologist to provide clinical coverage and participate in offsite call in Prestonsburg, KY from Sep 28, 2026 to Dec 28, 2026. Clinical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with offsite call requiring a 30-minute emergency response and 12-hour routine response. Clinical responsibilities Deliver outpatient clinic care and procedural services for a medically complex, often non-compliant patient population. Perform general and advanced endoscopic procedures: upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy (with or without polypectomy), ERCP (mid-to-moderate complexity), flexible sigmoidoscopy, PEG placement, enteral alimentation, and foreign body removal. Provide therapeutic interventions including argon plasma coagulation, non-variceal hemostasis (upper and lower), biopsies throughout the GI tract, esophageal dilation (balloon, bougie, Savary with guidewire), and esophageal/duodenal/luminal stent placement. Conduct GI motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring. Operational details Typical daily procedural volume: 12-14 cases.

Credentialing timeline:
approximately 3 months. Qualifications Board-certified/eligible in Gastroenterology with demonstrated competence in listed procedures. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are highly preferred given the patient population. This role offers focused clinic hours with advanced endoscopy responsibilities and an offsite shared-call model.
