(Physician/MD qualifications required) Psychiatry (General) - Academic affiliated Health System offering a full range of treatment options, including ECT, to ensure that patients are matched with the appropriate level of care is seeking an inpatient adult or geriatric psychiatrist to join an employed behavioral healthcare team of dedicated professionals The Medical | Behavioral Healthcare program is the longest running program of its kind in the state of Massachusetts with expert psychiatrists leading multidisciplinary teams that help patients reach their optimal level of functioning. The inpatient unit specializes in providing evaluation and treatment of psychiatric disorders in the geriatric population, often complicated by acute|chronic medical problems. Common reasons for admission include late-life depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, delirium and dementia-related behavioral disturbances. The program combines the expertise of psychiatrists, internists, psychiatric and medical nurses, social workers and occupational therapists to create a comprehensive treatment plan. The team also utilizes the consultation of medical and surgical subspecialties, neurology, neuropsychology, physical therapy, speech therapy and nutrition. Full-time or part-time - positions available in both adult inpatient and geriatric inpatient units. Patient-centered, trauma-informed care, utilizing a holistic approach. Interdisciplinary teams with experienced and passionate staff. Broad continuum of care, spanning inpatient and outpatient services. Treatment of all adult psychiatric conditions in a full-service medical hospital. Active inpatient and outpatient ECT service.
