Job Description

Alumni Healthcare Staffing seeks a Primary Care Physician for a full-time locum tenens assignment in Pocomoke City, MD. In this role, you will provide comprehensive outpatient primary care, including diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management, preventive care, and health education for diverse adult and possibly pediatric populations. Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow, appropriate referrals, and accurate documentation in the EMR. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions Conduct routine wellness visits, preventive screenings, and health risk assessments Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and COPD according to evidence-based guidelines Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and community resources as needed Prescribe medications safely and manage refills and medication reconciliation Collaborate closely with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, and lifestyle modification Adhere to quality, compliance, and safety standards set by the facility and governing bodies Required Skills Primary care medicine Chronic disease management Outpatient clinical practice Physical examination and diagnosis EMR documentation Ordering and interpreting labs and imaging Medication management and prescribing Care coordination and referrals Preventive care and health promotion Patient and family communication
