Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Interventional Pain Management Physician to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will specialize in diagnosing and treating complex pain conditions through advanced interventional techniques, ensuring patients experience relief and improved quality of life. Your expertise will help develop personalized pain management plans, utilizing cutting-edge procedures and therapies to address acute and chronic pain. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations to identify pain sources. Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans incorporating interventional procedures such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, and neurostimulation. Utilize advanced imaging techniques like CT scans, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy to guide precise interventions. Manage perioperative care for patients undergoing interventional procedures, ensuring optimal safety and comfort. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists, anesthesiologists, psychiatrists, and physical therapists to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on pain management options, medication use—including botulinum toxin treatments—and lifestyle modifications for sustained relief. Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards such as CPT codes. Requirements Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Pain Medicine or Anesthesiology with subspecialty training in Interventional Pain Management. Proven experience performing interventional radiology procedures under imaging guidance such as fluoroscopy or ultrasound. Strong knowledge of medical imaging modalities including CT scans and ultrasound technology used in pain interventions. Familiarity with EHR systems like Epic and EMR systems for documentation and patient record management. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate complex treatment options clearly and empathetically. Critical care experience or hospital medicine background preferred for managing complex cases requiring acute pain management strategies. Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in advanced airway management or neurocritical care are advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology related to pain medications—including botulinum toxin treatments—and procedural techniques such as catheterization and wound care is essential.
