Job Description

Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology in Pontiac, MI! Are you a dedicated Hematology and Oncology specialist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexibility? McLaren Oakland is seeking an experienced Locum Physician to provide vital outpatient care in a dynamic Hodgkin environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care during a recruitment gap, ensuring continuity and excellence in oncology and hematology services.
What You'll Do:
Deliver outpatient hematology and oncology care to a diverse patient population. Manage approximately 15-20 patients daily in a well-supported outpatient clinic setting. Participate in tumor board discussions, leveraging your expertise to optimize patient outcomes. Provide clinic coverage on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including on-call duties as needed. Utilize Cerner EMR system to maintain accurate patient records. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, medical assistants, social workers, dietitians, and nurse navigators. Access support services like infusion centers, onsite CBC testing, and other resources to facilitate high-quality patient care.
Required Skills:
Board-certified or eligible in Hematology and Oncology. Proven experience in outpatient hematology and oncology care. Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with the Cerner EMR system. Ability to handle clinic call responsibilities effectively. Nice to

Experience with tumor board participation. Prior work in ambulatory oncology settings. Additional certifications or training in oncology care.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. At least 2 years of clinical experience in hematology/oncology. Prior locum or temporary coverage experience is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Valid medical license to practice in Michigan. Willingness to travel for the assignment; reimbursement included within a $150 cap for mileage and rental refueling. No lodging arrangements through third-party booking sites; McLaren does not reimburse taxes or booking fees.
