GENERAL DESCRIPTION
: Responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries in general practice by performing the following job duties.SPECIFIC DUTIES
Elicits and records information about the patient's medical history. Examines patient to determine general physical condition. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Reports births, deaths, and outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities. Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment. Performs minor surgery per approve privileges. Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage. Participate in continuing medical education as required for licensure and skills maintenance. Assists the Medical Director in the coordination of programs, supervision of nurse practitioners, supervision of other medical staff members, recruitment of medical staff members, and continuing medical education endeavors. Actively participate staff meetings and in-services. Assist the medical director and other staff members as needed to cover vacations and sick leave. Provides after hours coverage as assigned. Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership of healthcare clinic to enhance quality of healthcare service to patients. Assists and complies with HRSA reporting requirements. Works collaboratively with staff to improve quality measures related to patient care. Must maintain confidentiality per HIPAA policies. Must respect patient's rights and responsibilities. Must demonstrate tact in dealing with sensitive matters. Must work in harmony with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality service to patients. Must present MyCare in a positive manner. Performs other related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have knowledge of HIPAA privacy/security laws. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and team building skills. Must have excellent decision making skills and attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of people, providers and agencies. Self-motivated, willing to take initiative and work autonomously. Must have excellent organizational skills.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

License to practice as a MD or DO in the State of Michigan and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. DEA Number ACLS (advanced cardiac life support)- preferred, PALS (pediatric advanced life support)
- preferred, BLS (basic life support)
- required.
