Job Description

Primary Care Physician Locum Tenens Michigan Start Date:
Early August 2026
Assignment Length:
Approximately 12 weeks (with potential for extension)
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday Thursday We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) or Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to provide temporary coverage for an established outpatient primary care practice while a permanent provider is recruited. Position Highlights Full-time locum assignment Adult and geriatric patient population Average patient volume of patients per day Collaborative practice with multiple physicians and advanced practice providers No call No Emergency Department coverage No supervisory responsibilities 2 3 exam rooms available EPIC electronic medical record Temporary privileges available with an estimated 10-business-day credentialing process Clinical Responsibilities Comprehensive primary care evaluations and management Evaluation and management of acute volume status and blood pressure concerns Women's health services, including pelvic exams and Pap smears Occupational medicine services, including disability examinations Minimum Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in an applicable specialty (Board Certification required within three years of residency completion) Minimum of one year of primary care experience Active Michigan medical license Active DEA registration Current BLS certification Available to work full-time Monday through Thursday National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) Self-Query dated within 30 days of presentation Local or driving-distance candidates strongly preferred About the Opportunity Join a well-established outpatient practice that provides comprehensive primary care services to adults and older adults in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
