Call Requirements:

Beeper call Expected response time: within 10 minutes by phone and 15 minutes in-person Phone consults: Approximately 12 per 24 hours Call involves unassigned patients only

Certification:

Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery; trauma surgery fellowship preferred

Licensure:

Must be licensed in

Michigan Certifications Needed:

ACLS, ATLS, BLS

Additional Skills:

Proficiency in various surgical procedures, including but not limited to: General and Trauma Surgery Laparoscopic surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, Nissen fundoplication) Chest wall/pleural procedures, breast surgery GI endoscopy (upper and lower) Vascular access, chest tube, and central line insertion Minor orthopedics and hand surgery Pediatric surgery capabilities are advantageous but not required
