Visas Accepted N/A Specialty Family Medicine Practice Details Sanford Clinic Luverne is seeking BE/BC Family Medicine physician. 0.75 FTE Physician -3 clinic days and hospital call for Luverne (approximately 4 days of call/mo or 2 days/pp)
  • 7 family practice MD's, 3 APP's and 1 General Surgeon.
  • Average of 20-25 patients per day
  • Robust hospital and surgical department
  • Additional support from Behavioral Health Counselor, Integrated Health Therapist, RN Care Manager, Substance Use Counselors, PMHNP, and Pharmacist
  • Nursing home responsibility is shared; with Medical Directorships available
  • ER is staffed by Status Health and surgical emergencies would be handled by on-call GS provider or transported to Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD, depending on severity.
Community Description Luverne, MN (population 5,000) is a progressive-minded community located just 20 minutes from Sioux Falls, SD. Luverne has a wonderful atmosphere and sense of community. The diverse options for with a recently updated Luverne Area Aquatics and Fitness, along with hiking at the beautiful Blue Mound State Park, canoeing down the Rock River, relaxing and watching a movie at the Verne Drive-in, exploring the many parks, and enjoying a delicious meal at - JJ's Drive-In or Take 16 Brewery. The Historic Palace Theater, the Brandenburg Gallery, Herreid Museum, Hinkley House, and Historical Center few places to enjoy. There is also "The Lake" where one can enjoy your summertime days where you can fish, kayak, or just float around and swim. The school system recently completed a $31M project and provides a great education and activities for the children. Overall, Luverne is a great place to raise a family and make a forever home. It is a wonderful family-centered community. Job Description Family Medicine Core Privileges includes the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illness, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions and functional disorders of circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, integumentary, nervous, female reproductive, and genitourinary systems. This includes the pre-operative care of surgical patients and post-operative medical care of surgical patients and return to work issues. Qualifications M.D. or D.O. degree. Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. Applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months. Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or he Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy. Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity's policy for grandfather exceptions) Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists. Compensation Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive compensation plan with an additional physician benefits package including a health, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, CME allowance, allowed time away, malpractice insurance and tail coverage, and a relocation allowance. Annual compensation floor range (based on 1.0 FTE): $265,175 - $343,168 plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs. Additional incentives may be offered. Actual compensation offers may vary and are determined based on multiple factors including education, training, certification, experience, scope of practice and actual job requirements.
