JOB SUMMARY
The ER Physician provides direct clinical treatment services to patients on an outpatient basis, ensuring that patients receive the treatment necessary to treat their emergency medical complaint. The physician works constructively and collaboratively with other health professionals and focuses on attaining high standards of healthcare in Emergency Medicine. Duties may include patient care, instructing, monitoring, and advising other health care professionals, as appropriate.
JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking an Emergency Medicine-trained physician to join our Emergency Department and Southeast Missouri's only Level III Trauma Center. Our emergency and trauma center is a state-of-the-art facility with 32 patient rooms and serves nearly 42,000 patients annually.
The facility houses:
26 private treatment rooms with direct access to bathrooms 3 trauma rooms 2 triage rooms 1 special procedures room Specially designated children's exam areas and equipment specifically tailored to treat children of all ages Senior-friendly accommodations such as thicker mattresses, higher chairs, large-print forms, guardrails and nonskid flooring to enhance comfort and encourage a speedy return to the highest quality of life Join the Saint Francis family where we are better together and where people come first!

Certification and Licensures:
Board Certification or Board Eligible in
Emergency Medicine Certification & Licensures:
  • Medical license in the State Basic Life Support (BLS), PALS, ACLS, and ATLS.
  • Must also maintain a Controlled Substance license for the State of Missouri and Federal DEA.
  • Must have successfully completed, an accredited residency program.
  • Must maintain active medical privileges and medical memberships.
  • Must be Board Certified within 2 years of hire date.
Experience:
  • Competent in delivery of healthcare services for ages 0 to 120 years.
  • Age specific competency is measured by a variety of methods, which may include, but not be limited to, self-learning packets, review of age specific guidelines, direct observation, video, simulation, unit-based class, policies and procedures, or chart review.
