Job Description

Locum Tenens Opportunity:
General Medicine Physician Near Columbus, MS We are seeking a General Medicine Physician to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans near Columbus, MS. This is an excellent opportunity to assist our nations veterans while enjoying a flexible, PRN-based schedule. The need is ongoing, and physicians with backgrounds in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine are encouraged to apply. This non-treatment role offers two options for service delivery, making it an ideal choice for those looking for work-life balance.

Responsibilities:
Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P)
Exams:
Conduct one-time, non-treatment exams and separation health assessments for veterans. Exams are primarily interview-based , supplemented by physical assessments such as range of motion testing and muscle strength evaluations. No treatment or prescribing required.
Coverage Options:
Option 1: Travel to a designated leased facility to conduct exams. Option 2: Schedule and perform exams within your own practice. Choose between half-days (4-hour shifts) or full-days (8-hour shifts) based on your availability.
Qualifications:
Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or a related field.
Proficiency in:
Musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular health. METs testing and diagnosis of respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions. Experience with goniometer use for physical assessments.
Certification Requirements:
Board Certified physician. Active and unrestricted license to practice in Mississippi. Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available). Note that DMA certification costs and training are not reimbursed.
