View More Jobs Manager Imaging Jackson, MS, United States (On-site) Job Description Responsible for the oversight and management of daily operations for the Imaging division. The Manager of Imaging ensures that safety and quality control standards are met, evaluates new procedures and equipment, and develops programs that are congruent with departmental goals and objectives. Responsibilities Leadership Assists in recommending, developing, and coordinating the implementation of policies and procedures for all SDH subsidiaries, and reviews the utilization and application of those procedures. Program Management and Daily Operations Assists in planning short- and long-term projects and oversees departmental activities related to these projects.
Image Production:
Selects equipment and accessories equipment for requested examinations, as well as immobilization devices for optimal image production. Evaluates radiographic images for diagnostic quality (positioning) and correct images, as well as processes exposed images. Oversees technical aspects of radiation safety. Ensures that standards for equipment and personnel performance are met as required by licensing and regulatory agencies. Assists in developing and recommending annual department operating and capital budgets and monitors the economical use and procurement of personnel, equipment, and supplies. Ensures that periodic equipment maintenance is carried out in order to control hospital and department costs and ensure the conservation of all. Meets with technical and sales representatives to assess and evaluate products and services in order to ensure the availability of technologically advanced equipment. Contributes to student education and supervision and maintains knowledge of competency based clinical education plans in an effort toward supporting continuing education efforts. Performance Improvement and Quality Develops high quality health care programs that are congruent with departmental goals and objectives. Monitors program performance and identifies ways of improving operational quality and efficiency. Manages departmental continuous quality improvement programs that further the attainment of optimum health care service outcomes. Promotes participation in multi-disciplinary continuous quality improvement efforts, ensures compliance with applicable regulatory agency and JCAHO guidelines, and ensures that all services provided by the department are performed with compassion, understanding, and respect for others. Monitors departmental standards for the evaluation of personnel performance, identifies ways of improving the quality of existing services, and makes prudent and efficient recommendations that promote efficient departmental operations. Promotes and encourages the growth and development of staff members by encouraging their participation in approved continuing education activities such as professional conferences, seminars, and workshops. Advocates continuing education as a means of promoting the high-quality services provided by all departmental personnel. Promotes the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance by remaining current with the latest trends in field of expertise through participation in job-relevant seminars and workshops, attendance at professional conferences, and affiliations with national and state professional organizations. Other Duties as Assigned Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications Education:
Associates degree or graduate of a radiologic technology program required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Skills Abilities:
Supervisory experience is required; sufficient experience in a radiology department preferred.
