Position Overview:
Blackfeet Community Hospital is hiring a long-term OB/GYN Locum Physician (MD/DO) in Browning, Montana. This is a government-owned and operated facility providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. Learn more about the facility here: Details Long-term

  • up to 1 year with possible extensions Flexible scheduling Housing options available Local or travel locum tenens welcome to apply OB/GYN experience as an MD/DO required 2-3 years of post-residency experience needed Previous locum tenens and IHS facility experience preferred Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology required Must hold a valid U.
S. medical license (any state) Current
BLS, ACLS, NRP
certifications required Responsibilities Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients across all stages of life Manage prenatal, labor & delivery, and postpartum care Perform gynecological surgeries and procedures within scope of privileges Collaborate with nursing, midwifery, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care Participate in on-call coverage for obstetrics and emergencies as assigned Provide education and counseling to patients regarding reproductive health and family planning Document all encounters and procedures in accordance with facility policy and federal regulations Participate in quality improvement and peer review initiatives Additional Duties Additional duties and responsibilities may be added at any time. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform any other job-related responsibilities as requested by their supervisor. Indian Preference Exercised Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B). /
GYN Requirements:
Requirements Active, Unrestricted Medical License
  • Must hold a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Montana or any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Board Certification/Eligibility
  • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG). Active DEA Registration
  • Required to prescribe and manage controlled substances. Certifications
  • Must have current certifications in: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Citizenship
  • Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily within the United States. Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant OB/GYN clinical experience post-residency required. Credentialing
  • Must complete all credentialing requirements within 10 days of offer acceptance. Federal Security Clearance
  • Must be willing and able to complete and pass the federal background and security clearance process.
